Lessons: Helping You Keep Bees

I can come to your yard and teach you about bee care with your own bees. I have 16 years of experience, and I am happy to teach you all I know about bees. You are also welcome to come to my apiary if you want to do your learning before you get your bees.
You would need:
A hive of bees (If you don't have one yet, see my hive servicing service)
Protective gear (veil, gloves, smoker) and a hive tool
Lots of enthusiasm
On a warm, sunny day, at a time that works for both of us, I can come out to your backyard (or apiary) and go through a hive inspection and all seasonally important maintenance. As we work our way through your hive, I can point out different castes of bees, find the queen, ensure that there is enough pollen and nectar available, teach you about bee diseases and treatments, and help you harvest honey which is yours to eat! You can learn these skills by taking classes or joining a bee club, which I highly recommend, but I also understand that some of us have busy lives and would like the convenience and personalization that come with one-on-one instruction and mentoring.
A lesson usually lasts about two hours, but it can vary depending on how much needs to be done, and what you are interested in learning. For someone just starting a hive, I recommend a lesson per week for the first two months with the bees, after which point, you will have the basics down, and can call me whenever needed.
If interested, please fill out the contact sheet or email me at beegreenbees (at sign) gmail.com
